Tasting Tuesday

The sharing planche / "Planche à Partager" has taken over Paris.
Best enjoyed: outside at a terrace table.

Most menus in Paris cafés now include an "à partager" (to share) section with a variety of appetizers and planches.

A Paris planche

Once a rarity, the planche mixte, perfect for a sharing apéro or even a light meal, seems to be everywhere - and some of the best are at local cafés and wine bars.

À partager

Charcuterie-cheese memories:
When I was in high school my father would pick me up after work and we'd sneak off to a tiny French épicerie in Georgetown to load up on patés, cheeses, sausages, greek olives, and fresh baguette, then sit quietly in the car together, indulging. When we got home to my mom's dinner she'd say, "I hope you're hungry!" to which we'd say, we were "starving".... - BPJ
