Fougasse Friday

A boulanger works quickly to shape olive fougasses, large pretzel-like flatbreads that originated in Provence. For Good Friday larger ones will have seven holes representing the face of Jesus Christ.

Stale rolls

With the Feast of the Three Kings over this tree with its petits pains at a local bakery will finally be taken down.

 

 

Bakery on the Butte

Sweet shop

Not far from the Opéra a bakery offers freshly made sandwiches, viennoiseries, coffee to go and macarons enticingly set out in glass containers.
