Few are aware that high on the Butte Montmartre hidden paths behind locked gates lead to artist live-work spaces - private lofts, studios, and ateliers - where salons, talks, spontaneous get-togethers and tête-a-têtes take place almost every weekend.

The artists who made Montmartre famous didn't just fade away. They left their mark in many ways and some, like Pablo Picasso, left descendants. On Monday, a peek into some of the ateliers of today's working artists, our neighbors, our friends.
