Fish soup Friday

In France, fish on Fridays is a given on restaurant menus throughout the year, but now that Le Carême (Lent) has arrived Friday fish consumption in all its forms will shift into high gear until Easter Sunday. Look for this bisque-like soupe de poisson with its traditional accompaniments - baguette croûtons, a grated gruyère-like cheese and rouille, a powerful Provençale sauce made by pounding together red chili peppers with a good amount of garlic and other ingredients into a mayo-like texture - a favorite sure to be showing up on both menus and dinner tables more than usual. - BPJ

...Toi, tu m'aimais et je t'aimais

Et nous vivions tous deux ensemble,

Toi qui m'aimais, moi qui t'aimais

...

...You, you loved me and I loved you
And we both lived together,
You who loved me, me who loved you

Dead leaves are collected with a shovel
You see, I haven't forgotten
Dead leaves are collected with a shovel
Memories, and regrets too
And the north wind carries them away
In the cold night of oblivion
You see, I haven't forgotten
The song you sang to me

From Les Feuilles Mortes by Jacques Prévert / sung by Yves Montand
