The right to vacation
In Paris, getting away in August is considered so essential that each year the city sets aside a sizable budget to create Paris Plages along the banks of the Seine, a bogus but fun "beach" set up for those who stay behind.

Un-loved locks
Gone are the Love Locks from the Pont des Arts that became too weighty for safety and had to be removed. A tourist tradition, couples attach a padlock to a railing then throw the key into the river to "seal" their romance.
