A castle in winter #3

 New Year's Day.

Above: spectacular sunrise; early riser breakfast in the kitchen of pain perdu (made w/thick slices of country bread) and maple syrup fruit compote; strong coffee; butter and milk from local cows

Below: the warmth of a fire and a chilled rosé apéro come evening
